Did You Get Your Free Donut Today?
National Donut Day is Krispy Kreme’s attempt to give away one free donut per customer at participating locations within the US. Its is held on the first friday each June. The holiday started in 1938 with fundraising attempts to Chicago’s Salvation Army. This was around the great Depression and war days, so with the recent recession upon us, we should take advantage and get a free Donut. Dunkin Donuts has tried to counter this offering by asking for a purchase of a drink before receiving a free donut there. Have your choice!
