Disney Buys Marvel Entertainment! 3 Billion and An Army of Characters to Animate. Read More!

The biggest media deal of 2009 has just been announced by the Disney Corporation.  They are acquiring Marvel Entertainment for $4 Billion.  This gives Disney access to over 5,000 characters since 1939 and believe me, they will use them every chance they get.  These include Iron Man, the X-Men, the Incredible Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and even Captain America.  Each character serves to make a box office smash with the right production team, managed by Disney.  Marvel is powerful as well in other fields Disney is not.  The industry of comic books and graphic novels are 40% Marvel’s.  Overall, this deal sounds a little weird, as Marvel has made alotta money on some great movies over the last years.  So now, Iron Man 2 and even Spiderman are now part of Disney.  These movies have seen hundreds of millions and the company has net $3 billion just last year.  I guess they want to get stable and think even more is possible with the help of the Disney group.  Check out some mainstream media articles listed below:

California wins Little League World Series: Chula Vista 6 vs. Chinese Taipei 3 – See Pics & Video!

Little League World Series has finally got a winner!  Chula Vista, California’s (south of San Diego) team, beat Chinese Taipei 6-3 in the championship game this weekend.   Nice ralley from the score being 3-1, as Chula Vista walked the big man for Taipei twice, in fear of the first homerun of the game.  Congrats on the win fellas!  This win from the Chula Vista Park View 11-12yr olds marks a Cali win since 1992 when Long Beach captured back to back titles.

RIP DJ AM, found dead in New York Apartment Friday. Read his Last Twitter Message and News Coverage Here!

Adam Michael Goldstein –  March 30, 1973 – August 28, 2009

DJ AM,  was found dead in his New York City apartment , 5pm. More reports show his body, wearing only sweatpants, was found near prescription bottles as well as a crack pipe.  This comes after one year earlier from surviving a plane crash with Travis Barker. DJ AM owned a club and was infamous for his DJ’ing in Las Vegas as a resident of the resort.  His last tweet was ironicly a quote from an old song by GrandMaster, or as I recall Snoops dis record in the East vs West Hip Hop Beef Era…  but DJ AM’s Last Tweet reads this:

“New York, New York. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york ain’t always what it seems.”

Travis Barker’s most recent Twitter Messages about DJ AM:

Don’t know how i am gonna play 2night but i am for AM. My brother is gone.i love u and miss u, i’ll never forget all the good times we had. …

“I’ll never forget everything we’ve been thru and every time i play the drums i’ll think of you. U were an amazing friend/DJ/hum

Facebook 3.0 iPhone App is Here! Get a Preview of this new Social Media Tool

The new Facebook 3 app provides a host of great tools to access your facebook network.  This includes:  video uploads, a new home screen, add  profile pages, create and zoom into photo albums, easily access search and notifications, continue a messages after interrupted by a phone call and plenty more. Now I’m a fair guy, so lets talk about the bad parts too, lol.  There is a glitch in playing facebook uploaded videos, even though many smartphones suffer problems as well.  The error message displays saying “The video can not be play yet, on this device”.  However, Youtube videos are imported and the link is played through this App. Some have complained that the update did not work at all, even after deleting and reinstalling.  One person even said chat feature caused a shut down. Overall, its a great app, when its up and running, and better than the 2.5. The new App is available for download at the iTunes store, or click here.

Snow Leopard for $29 each or Family Pack for $49! Links to Reviews and Short Introduction Video.

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is HERE!

Apple is back at it, much anticipated from conferences this year that introduced everyone to Mac’s new OS, Snow Leopard.  Great timing as Microsoft 7 is slated to come out soon.  The Mac program has been lingering around, but the greatest update is upon us, Aug 28.  The funny part is the price, as $29 bucks seems like nothing for all the features crammed into Snow Leopard. What’s the catch? You must be a prior Leopard user or it’ll cost $169.  They also say it’s not good for business, but personal computers will love the new integration of programs similar to Windows. Just think Safari 4, Quicktime Player X, TextEdit, Mail, and iChat, now even better. It tweaks programs and makes speed a priority.  No serial numbers when installing, browsers won’t crash just the plug-ins, and Adobe will be mad at the Mac’s PDF previewer which is rumored to be better. And lastly, Snow Leopard’s technology includes “Grand Central Dispatch” that makes the OS fast, reliable, and less problematic, by aiding each program’s processes with less chunks of memory. Sweet.  To read the full nerd reports, see the articles listed below.  Thanks for stopping by Twitter Trends at WordPress!

RIP Ted Kennedy

Senator Ted Kennedy passes away at age 77.

Family Statement:

“Edward M. Kennedy—the husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle we loved so deeply—died late Tuesday night at home in Hyannis Port. We’ve lost the irreplaceable center of our family and joyous light in our lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism, and perseverance will live on in our hearts forever. We thank everyone who gave him care and support over this last year, and everyone who stood with him for so many years in his tireless march for progress toward justice, fairness and opportunity for all. He loved this country and devoted his life to serving it. He always believed that our best days were still ahead, but it’s hard to imagine any of them without him.”
