The biggest media deal of 2009 has just been announced by the Disney Corporation. They are acquiring Marvel Entertainment for $4 Billion. This gives Disney access to over 5,000 characters since 1939 and believe me, they will use them every chance they get. These include Iron Man, the X-Men, the Incredible Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and even Captain America. Each character serves to make a box office smash with the right production team, managed by Disney. Marvel is powerful as well in other fields Disney is not. The industry of comic books and graphic novels are 40% Marvel’s. Overall, this deal sounds a little weird, as Marvel has made alotta money on some great movies over the last years. So now, Iron Man 2 and even Spiderman are now part of Disney. These movies have seen hundreds of millions and the company has net $3 billion just last year. Today, Eric Schmidt had enough and finally decides to split the Apple side as Board of Directors. Apple & Google are part of an investigation by the FCC as they starting to rival. The recent attempt from Google to include an iphone App “Google Voice” was unsuccessful as Apple cited different policies that blocked the Apps from being included in the Apple store. This has frustrated Google as Microsoft launches business strategies to undercut Google fans with Bing.com, a new word processing apps similar to Google Docs added value features, and the deal with Yahoo which includes advertising & more search engine help. Not only is Google mad, but the FCC has decided to investigate the matter. Currently, the FCC analyzes links between the Apple Corp and AT&T company, as they appear to be tight knit as their history should make them close friends… but was it enough to block Google from stepping into their territory with “Google Voice”. As the resignations, new product releases, & strategies behind them flare up, something is cooking up… and the FCC is the food inspector! lol We’ll see if the company’s clean it up and bring the heavy competition growing into the end of 2009. The Staples Center has been growing with fans flocking across the world to attend the public funeral service in Los Angeles. Reports of Tickets going for extraordinary prices and the number of attendees has been amazing. The funeral service consist of some of the greatest celebrities with performances by many. Al Sharpton gave a touching speech with a statement directed to MJ’s kids, “There was nothing strange about your daddy! The things he had to deal with was strange!” which won applause over the large crowd. The whole Jackson family was in front row with children as MJ’s coffin was on stage for everyone to give honor. The mysteries surrounding Michael’s death has grown even bigger, with custody battles, autopsies, & trying to figure out who exactly is MJ in his latter years. The biggest controversy currently is MJ’s kids. Rumor has it, they are not his, but thats not it… they are NOT the mother’s either who gave birth to the kids. From reports, the sperm and egg was formed outside the womb and then given to a surrogate to carry for Michael’s sake. Is the sperm really MJ’s? And does the surrogate have rights to the kids? Rumor has it, the Kids were from MJ’s dermatologist and vowed to never tell the secret, this guy was the boss of the surrogate mother as well. To continue, the custody battle is ongoing as everyone is claiming rights to the kids. The mother (thought as surrogate) could get the oldest two, but will a judge split the kids up which is rare. The Jackson Family has had custody after MJ’s death as well. As we find out the true parents, maybe they will have some say so.
The neverland ranch was rumored to be the location of the funeral while some reports say he wouldn’t even want that. Kim Kardashian gets in the spotlight while telling her story as a young girl dating Michael’s Nephew.
